Mandatory HMO licensing changes – are you ready?

13th August 2018

The legal requirements surrounding mandatory HMO licensing are changing on 1 October 2018.  An estimated 160,000 extra properties will need licensing across England, with new rules on minimum bedroom sizes and a new licence condition for waste disposal. Any landlord who hasn’t applied for a new licence by 1 October 2018 will be in breach of the law.

To help you understand and tackle these changes, we’ve created two half day seminars on Wednesday 5th September and Friday 14th September, offering a practical guide to the new HMO licensing requirements and how to keep your business compliant.

Speaker Richard Tacagni of London Property Licensing, and expert in property licensing law will guide you through the new requirements.

Adam Ali of flatfair will also be joining us to talk through the deposit alternative landscape and how technology offers the solution to the tenancy deposit problem rather than a return to previous insurance-based iterations. With flatfair, landlords can offer tenants the option to pay an affordable membership fee instead of an expensive tenancy deposit. In exchange, flatfair landlords get double the protection provided by a standard deposit (up to 12 weeks’ worth of rent) and benefit from faster pay-outs and fewer voids.

Date: Wednesday 5th September and Friday 14th September 2018

Venue: Places for People, 305 Grays Inn Road, London WC1X 8QR

Time: 9.15am registration for 9.30 am start – 1.15pm close.

Cost: £70 + VAT per delegate (10% discount for 3 or more booked together).

BOOK NOW! Email info@nalscheme.co.uk to reserve your place.

The seminars are sponsored by flatfair – the simple, safe and affordable alternative to tenancy deposits, and Kerry London – Tailored insurance designed for property investors, owners and landlords of commercial and residential properties.
