A ground-breaking new training course from the National Approved Letting Scheme (NALS) will allow candidates to become certified without leaving the office.

The NALS Foundation Lettings Course (England) – which has been recognised as an accredited award from awarding organisation NCFE* – allows agents to take their tests online rather than having to attend a dedicated testing centre. Candidates successfully completing the award will receive an NCFE certificate.

Recognising the challenges for employers of releasing staff to go on external training courses, NALS has extended its Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) offering online courses, from the basics, through to enhancing knowledge through a recognised award.

Leading these changes is qualified trainer Jane Moore, who has joined NALS as Head of Learning.

NALS VLE now offers:

• Lettings Learning Snacks
• Foundation Lettings Courses (England) and (Wales)
• Continuing Professional Development Courses
• Accredited Qualifications

In addition, NALS has become an ABBE (Awarding Body for the Built Environment) Approved Centre with full authorisation to deliver ABBE lettings qualifications.

NALS has also been confirmed as an approved training provider for Rent Smart Wales, the regulator for agents and landlords in Wales. By completing the Foundation Lettings Course (Wales), agents can become compliant with the Rent Smart Wales licensing training requirement.

* NCFE is an awarding organisation recognised by the qualification regulators for England and Wales. NCFE’s regulators are the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) in England, Qualification Wales and CCEA regulations. The NALS Foundation Lettings Course (England) isn’t regulated by Ofqual but has been accredited by NCFE as a Customised Award.
