The Deposit Protection Service (The DPS) and safeagent have announced two further e-learning modules as part of an independently accredited award for landlords and letting agents.
The modules, which follow e-courses on starting residential tenancies and preparing for disputes, focus on the key stages of a tenancy and the main considerations when reaching the end of a tenure, including the check-out, as well as calculating deductions from the deposit.
Learners who pass all four modules as well as a final test have the option to receive an Award in Deposit Protection, accredited by national awarding organisation NCFE, as well as an accompanying certificate, for a cost of £48.
Matt Trevett, Managing Director at The DPS, said, “Our latest e-learning modules will help landlords and letting agents enhance their understanding of the tenancy lifecycle and important concepts that play a role in the dispute process, whether they have years of experience or are new to the industry.”
Isobel Thomson, Chief Executive Officer at safeagent, the leading not-for-profit letting agent accreditation scheme, said, “By completing the modules which lead to the Award in Deposit Protection, agents and landlords are clearly demonstrating to consumers their knowledge of best practice in tenancy deposit protection.”
Further information on all module content, and the Award in Deposit Protection is available at https://elearning.safeagents.co.uk/course/index.php?categoryid=14. New learners will need to create a login and access the course via The DPS Training Hub.
The DPS has run hundreds of face-to-face seminars for landlords and letting agents across the country since 2007, and is now focusing on providing online resources to continue to share information and guidance with landlords and letting agents during the coronavirus pandemic.
The DPS has also provided information on managing tenancies during the pandemic, which is available at https://www.depositprotection.com/news/latest-news/2020/deposit-protection-during-the-coronavirus-crisis-your-questions-answered/
