Legislation on the Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (5th AML) – The Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations 2019 – which will impact regulated estate and letting agents, comes into force on 10 January 2020.
The Regulations will impact letting agents who deal with rental payments from landlords of over 10,000 euros per month and will introduce requirements for greater due diligence checks.
We are awaiting further detail and guidance from Government and will share further information with safeagents as soon as available.
