Newly approved course allows agents to meet registration training requirement set by Scottish Government.
NALS is offering online training for Scottish agents to become compliant with new rules which came into force on 31 January 2018.
It is now compulsory for lettings and property management agents operating in Scotland to belong to a new register of letting agents. Key individuals in each agency in a supervisory role must meet a minimum level of training. Those who have to be qualified as part of the registration process must have a relevant qualification covering essential aspects of letting agency work. Agents have until 1 October 2018 to apply to join the register.
The Scottish Government has determined that the NALS Foundation Lettings Course (Scotland) meets the qualification requirement for agents wishing to apply to the Register.
The Course comprises of three modules with a final test and is accredited by NCFE, a national Awarding Organisation. Candidates who successfully complete the course will be awarded an NCFE certificate*.
The Course cost is £240 for individuals within a NALS firm, and £300 for those from a non-NALS firm**.
Isobel Thomson, NALS Chief Executive, said:
“NALS works hard to improve the PRS across the UK. We’re delighted to be able to support agents in Scotland with this new training offering. Our course offers training that can be undertaken entirely online, allowing agents to become compliant with the new requirements at a reasonable cost and without having to take time away from the office.”
